Anne Kathleen Gray hails from
London, England, with degrees in Music, Speech, Drama, an M.A.
in English and Ph.D., in Human Behavior. A professor of
Music History, Keyboard, Choral Arts, Speech and Drama, her
book, The Popular Guide to Classical Music, has been
translated into several languages and can be found in all major
Spanish-speaking countries. Her landmark 1072-page
definitive book, The WORLD of WOMEN in Classical Music,
hit the world in 2007, in nomination for a Pulitzer Prize and an
ASCAP Award.
Dr. Gray’s other books include the
highly effective motivationals, Where Have You Been All Your
Life? and How to Hang Onto Your Husband!
Juvenile works are two editions of the historical The
Wonderful World of San Diego. She has contributed to
the Grolier Encyclopedia plus numerous magazine and newspaper
articles including the Journal of the International Alliance
of Women in Music (IAWM), Women of Note, American Harp
Journal, Maud Powell Magazine, Mu Phi Epsilon
Triangle, The Pen Woman (magazine of the National
League of American Pen Women) and San Diego Union-Tribune.
Her Life as a Wife columns, rivaling humorist Erma Bombeck, ran
in the San Diego Woman Journal. In the performance
field she is piano accompanist to her violinist son. |

Winner of numerous literary, music,
public speaking and writing awards, Dr. Gray is Past President
of both the National League of American Pen Women, La Jolla
Branch, and California South State Association; Past President
of Toastmasters of La Jolla; member of the International
Platform Speakers Association, American Association of
University Women (AAUW), College Music Society (CMS), American
Musicological Society (AMS), International Alliance of Women in
Music (IAWM), National Museum of Women in the Arts, and Music
Fraternity Mu Phi Epsilon, in which she has been elected
to their ACME honor society. She is listed in the
Dictionary of International Biography, Baker’s
Biographical Dictionary of 20th Century Musicians and
Who’s Who in Music.
Anne has been married to the same
man for an amazing number of years. They have two handsome
sons, one a teacher, one in the medical field.
